Unlock the Healing Mysteries of the Jewish Tallit

Do You Want to Hear What God Says About Your Miracle?

Jesus is with His disciples and is teaching them what we have come to know as “The Parable of the Sower.” Look with me for a moment at the passage of scripture in Mark 4:3-9. Jesus says, “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it. Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

God Wants You to Understand Some Amazing Things

Jesus is talking to them about seed falling on various types of soil. Then, all of a sudden, in verse nine, He declares, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Obviously, Jesus was not addressing people who were actually missing ears on their heads. No, He was talking about people who heard the words He spoke but had no ability to understand. He was saying, in effect, “He who is anointed—touched and gifted by God with discernment and understanding—let him understand.” Can’t you just see the apostles standing behind Him, nodding in agreement?

But there’s more. Then, verse 10 says, “When He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable.” Jesus said to the disciples, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God.” In other words, including those of us who would later know Him, He is saying, “To you who are born again, I am going to explain the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to everyone else, these teachings are merely going to be stories.” Until we read and understand Scripture through Jesus’ eyes—the eyes of Yeshua the Messiah—and receive understanding by the Holy Spirit— the Spirit of the God of Abraham—the meaning of these teachings will remain locked in a neat little story.

Reach Out and Receive Your Miracle Today!

So, let’s ask God to help us go beyond the story to the place where the mystery of God’s Word is revealed and the place where we can wrap ourselves in His life-changing promises. The following story of healing is found in three of the four Gospels. Mark records it in his Gospel, Chapter 5, verses 25-26, “Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.” She was about to try something that would prove she was at the end of her rope. In desperation she says to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” (Matthew 9:21)

How Desperate Are You to Receive Your Miracle?

According to the Torah, this woman with the flow of blood was considered unclean and was not to be seen in public. In her condition, she was forbidden to touch anyone, especially a rabbi. By touching them, they would also become unclean. She had seen every doctor, but they had no answers. She had gotten progressively worse and had lost everything looking for a cure. Imagine how desperate she was to risk going out in public to a market full of witnesses in order to reach out and touch the rabbi visiting her town.

Maybe you can relate to this woman. You don’t feel worthy to go before a holy God. You’ve tried everything. You need your debts cancelled, your kids serving God and your spouse going to church. You’re tired of being sick or fighting an addiction. You are in the place that you will try anything. That’s exactly the state of mind the woman was in. She thought, if I can just touch the hem of His garment, my years of suffering and torment will finally be over.

Look Deeper into the Mystery of the Tallit

That word, hem, is kraspedon and means “a tassel of twisted wool.” This woman wasn’t even trying to touch the cloth of Jesus’ garments. She was only going to reach out and grab the tassel of wool that hung off the side of His prayer shawl. The Old Testament has a command about the tallit. Deuteronomy 22:12 says, “You shall make tassels on the four corners of the clothing with which you cover yourself.” This is somewhat a strange commandment in the middle of a chapter instructing the men of Israel on what to wear. It is preceded and followed by other aspects of Mosaic law; however, there is no further information given.

Don’t Forget the Things that Need to be Remembered

Then in the Book of Numbers an expanded explanation is given. Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel: tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them.” (Numbers 15:37–39) From generation to generation, Jewish men were instantly recognizable by the tassels of twisted wool on the fringe of their outer garment. Jesus was no different. Let’s look together at Luke’s description of the woman’s plight. He writes in Chapter 8, verse 44, that as she “…came from behind and touched the border of His garment immediately her flow of blood stopped.”

Jesus, as a Jewish man and rabbi was wearing the traditional prayer shawl, or tallit. On each of the four corners were woven tassels representing the 613 commandments of God that protect, lead, guide and teach His people. The English translation of the edge of the tallit is border. In Hebrew it is referred to as the arba kanfot, or “four wings.” This woman would have grown up hearing Isaiah’s prophecies of the coming Messiah. He would be “…wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
Of course there is so much more to teach about the tallit and it can’t all fit in one article, so for your gift of any amount today, we will send you a more in depth teaching on the tallit!

Are You Expecting to Receive Your Miracle Right Now?

When she saw Jesus wearing the prayer shawl, she knew that she would finally receive the miracle she had been seeking for so long. She remembered the prophecy that said, “The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings.” (Malachi 4:2) She didn’t try to brush His sleeve. She didn’t cry out from afar. She had faith that God would be true to His Word. As He passed by her, she reached out and grabbed the hem of Jesus’ tallit and of God’s promise. He immediately stopped and said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with Him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” (Luke 8:45–46) Jesus felt the power go out from Him. He looked around to see who had touched him. The woman came to Jesus and declared that she had touched Him and been immediately healed. He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” (Luke 8:47-48)

Do You Need a Tallit to be Healed?

You might be thinking, “Do I need a tallit to receive God’s healing?” Don’t we anoint people with oil? (James 5:14) Do we lay hands on the sick and see them recover? (Mark 16:18) We put a guard over our mouth because there is life and death in the power of the tongue, right? (Proverbs 18:21) Doesn’t God inhabit the praises of His people? (Psalm 22:3; Philippians 4:4) Isn’t it true that our tithes and offerings open up the windows of Heaven over our lives? (Malachi 3:10) Does God manifest His presence and power in all of these outward expressions? Yes, He does. Then perhaps God has given us another revelation. You don’t have to do any of those things for your salvation. But the Bible says, “Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves… But he continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” (James 1:22, 25) You can take action by declaring the Word of God over your body.

Two Amazing Stories of Healing and Miracles

There is an amazing ending to the story of Jesus healing the woman. Jesus had been rushing through the marketplace because Jairus, ruler of the synagogue had begged him to come to his house. His only daughter, age twelve was dying. On most days, the ruler of the synagogue also would have worn the tallit, but in this case, he didn’t, because it was customary for a man with a sick child, especially a rabbi, to wrap the child in the tallit—literally to wrap her in the promises of God. Here was Jairus rushing to get to Jesus when this woman stopped them. Most would have urged Jesus not to touch the unclean street woman. She could wait. His daughter was dying. Then came horrible news from his house. His daughter had already died. Jesus stopped and released faith into Jairus. Understanding his anguish, He said, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” (Mark 5:36)

Later, when Jesus arrived at Jairus’ house, where the weeping and mourning had begun, He announced, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” (Mark 5:39) The mourners mocked Jesus for such a foolish statement. But He put them all outside, took Jairus’ daughter by the hand and said, “Little girl, arise.” (Mark 5:41) Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. And her parents were astonished. (Mark 5:42-43) Here was the little girl, wrapped in the tallit—surrounded by the promises of God—and Jesus woke her as if she had only been napping.

The Ultimate Place of Safety, Peace and Protection

The Psalms contain a prophecy about wearing the prayer shawl. It says in Psalm 91:1,4, ”He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty… He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.” When we wear prayer shawls, we dwell in the secret place of the Most-High God, and in His shadow—under His wings—we will find refuge, healing, deliverance and prosperity. You might be thinking it just a prayer shawl… a piece of cloth. It has no spiritual powers. That is true. It’s not a magical cloak. It’s a physical reminder of a spiritual truth. It can put us in the correct mind-set to talk with God. You can wrap yourself in it and say, “Father, I claim every one of Your promises through the blood of Jesus. I cover myself in them. I wrap myself in Your healing wings.” Why not try something that is found in Scripture? Why not get a tallit and wrap yourself in the promises of God as you enter into prayer and worship? You can get your very own tallit here and join many believers who are now choosing to reclaim this garment as part of returning to the Jewish heritage of their faith.

We Got You Covered

Although, we can’t cover you physically with the tallit, we can cover you in prayer as we pray under the tallit. We can cover you with the miracle power of God.

Father, cover them as if You were draping the Tallit over them right now. In the name of Jesus, we bind the spirit of cancer, sickness and infirmity. You said whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven. We loosen the seven places Jesus shed His blood, the blood that breaks every curse and releases every blessing to set their children free, to set their husband or wife free, to bring healing, to break the curse of poverty and to bring blessing back to their businesses. Father, we agree that everything they put their hands to and every place they put the soles of their feet, You will give to them, as an inheritance with Your authority. We release healing and the peace of God that passes all understanding. We cover them in the power and the blessing of all mighty God, in Jesus’ name. Amen and amen.

One last thing, ancient Jewish wisdom teaches us that whenever God is ready to bless us, He first gives us an opportunity to bless others. If you’re in need, one of the best ways to activate a miracle is to be a miracle. After all of the recent rocket barrage and protest attacks, Israel needs more emergency vehicles and lifesaving equipment. Each ambulance is fully equipped to outfit paramedics with essential items such as the gloves, gauze, backboards and the high tech monitors and equipment they need to respond to countless emergencies. We are happy to report that our mobile ICU units are literally saving people’s lives. Because many of you have provided in the past, we have six ambulances in service and our seventh in production.

Now we need your help in funding an eighth Mobile ICU ambulance. These ambulances provide much more than a ride to the hospital. Their major purpose is to provide critical, life-saving medical care to thousands of Israel’s citizens each year. Thanks to your generous support for this project, emergency medical care can be readily dispatched to help attend to innocent civilians injured by terrorist attacks, as well as many others. With your help, we can place the order for number eight and save even more lives in the Holy Land. Please help us keep our commitment to provide at least one new MICU ambulance per year through your and other Larry Huch Ministries partner’s donations.

God Bless You!

Why Israel Is Important For Christians

Israel’s rebirth as a nation is the single greatest fulfillment of Bible prophecy we have seen in 2,000 years. Throughout world history, doubters said that it could never happen. No people lacking land and a common language could possibly be reborn as a nation! It had never happened before, and most of the world had been convinced it would never happen. Yet it did, exactly the way God said it would.
