Don’t Miss God’s Appointment With You
Have you ever set your phone alarm for a critical appointment the next day? It had been scheduled for months and you didn’t want to miss it. Before you turned the light off to go to sleep you probably even checked your phone to make sure the alarm was set correctly. Hours later, the blast of the alarm woke you up. The sound was impossible to ignore. You dragged yourself out of bed, headed to the kitchen for a quick cup of coffee or tea and began getting ready. It was going to be a great day. What if you’d forgotten to set your alarm? What if you left your phone in another room and missed the wake-up call? Or even worse, what if you slept right through it?
You don’t want to miss God’s wake up call. During the next 30 days, the season of Elul leading up to Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and the Days of Awe, He commands us to blow the shofar. The sound is His voice, blasting us awake. It is the sound of breakthrough. It reminds us to examine our lives, prepare our hearts and return to God and live totally committed to Him.
God is Trying to Wake You Up Right Now!
God has given us this appointed and anointed time not to observe a ritual, but to receive a revelation that transforms our lives. Each time we hear the blast of the shofar, the trumpet of Zion, that sounds the alarm, we choose to become doers of the Word and not hearers only. He blesses us as we respond to His sound to return.
We want to share with you some scriptures about this time.
Numbers 10:10 says, “When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. Also, in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, at the beginning of your month, you shall blow the shofar, or the trumpet.”
Joel 2:1, proclaims the familiar scripture. “Blow the trumpet in Zion, sound an alarm in my holy mountain.”
Matthew 24:31 declares a coming time on God’s timeline when, “He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”
1 Corinthians 15:52 tells us about a history-making event when, “In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the trumpet, for the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised and we will be transformed.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16 say more about the sound of the trumpet of God. “For the Lord himself will come down from Heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the Archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”
Remember, it’s not a ritual, but a revelation. A decision to dedicate our lives, once again, completely to God.
Do You See What’s About to Happen?
- God is on the throne
- Obedience to God
- Rededication to God
- The sound of God’s voice
- The sound of tears
- Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice
- God’s awesomeness
- Preparation for Jesus’ return
- The sound of celebration
- The sound of unity
- The shout of God
We wanted to share those with you because we want you to know what happens when the blast goes out and the shofar is sounded. Before we go through each one, we want to remind you that eleven is a prophetic number. We are in the most prophetic time on God’s calendar and in spiritual history. God is fulfilling His Word daily. More is coming as we get closer to the return of the Messiah. It’s time to get ready and look up. Our redemption is coming soon.
The first of the eleven is the fact that God is on the throne. Nothing that has happened or is currently occurring is a surprise to Him. He is the Maker of Heaven and Earth. The I AM. Despite what we have been seeing around the world, as we read the signs that God has given us throughout the past year and a half, the sound of the shofar, gives notice to the principalities, powers, and forces of darkness that God is back on the throne of our nation. Just as throughout biblical and political history, a trumpet blast has served as the announcement of a king or leader, the sound of the shofar loudly declares, that as believers, we believe that our nation is under God’s authority and direction.
Are You Ready for a Great Awakening of God’s Spirit?
The second reason we blow the shofar, is in obedience to God. When we obey His commands, He fulfills His promises. He will help us return to Him and awaken us from spiritual slumber. He empowers us with His Spirit and prepares us for the great spiritual awakening that has already begun in us and is spreading throughout our families, our communities, cities and eventually our nation and around the world.
The third is the sound of rededication. When we blow the shofar, we are committing our lives and the nations in which we live to God. We are the salt of the earth, the light in a dark world, the city on a hill. We are here to impact the world around us and bring the transforming “Good News” of the Gospel of Jesus to people everywhere. The sound of the shofar announcing a returning to Him and a commitment to always seek and serve Him and fulfill His purpose in our lives.
Bible Prophecy is Being Fulfilled Now!
The fourth emphasizes the shofar as the voice of God. It stirs the prophetic and makes God’s Word come alive. It releases signs, wonders and miracles in the Earth. When we blow the shofar, prophecy, gifts of the Spirit and God’s anointing is manifested.
The fifth, is what is called in Hebrew, the sound of tears. It reminds us of what happened when the Holy Temple was destroyed in Jerusalem. We love Israel and the Jewish people. Many of us have seen Israel become a nation in 1948, against all odds. In 1967 during the Six Day War, they took possession of Jerusalem. During their 70th anniversary year, the United States and many other nations recognized Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel. We continue to see biblical prophecies fulfilled, and we wait with great anticipation to see the Tabernacle of David restored. Before long, the Temple shall be rebuilt before the coming of the Messiah, Jesus.
The sixth reminds of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice His only son, Isaac. God provided a ram, as a foreshadowing of His future provision of the perfect, once for all, sacrifice of Jesus, the Messiah. He is the reason we can confidently return during Elul and trust Him completely with our lives. He has forgiven us. Healed us. Delivered us. Filled us. Empowered us. And provided for us to live an abundant and blessed life.
God is Your Way Maker and Miracle Worker
The seventh reason to blow the shofar is to reveal the awesome nature of God. He is the great I AM. There is no one like Him. No weapon formed against us prospers because of Him. The blast of the shofar is a weapon of our warfare that sends the enemy fleeing. If God is for us, who can be against us? I love the lyrics of the popular song, “Way Maker.” Our God is a way maker and miracle worker. He is a promise keeper and light in the darkness.
The eighth is best understood directly from the Hebrew. Let me translate it for you. At the trumpet sound of God, the Messiah will return. When we blow the shofar, it is a foreshadowing and a preparation for His return. As we teshuvah, or return to Him, during this appointed time of Elul, we sound the alarm to others to make that same choice.
Your Life is About to Change Right Now
The ninth reason to blow the shofar is to bring a sound of celebration. Faith replaces fear. Sadness is replaced by joy. The Spirit of God begins to arise stronger in our lives and in the nations in which we live. An awakening comes that transforms everything.
The tenth is the sound of unity. Did you know that where there is unity, God commands a blessing? Psalm 133: 1 and 3 assure us of this. Despite the increased division, strife, discord and lawlessness of the past year and a half, people are coming together. Jesus’ last prayer to His Father, before He was arrested and went to the cross, was that we, as believers would become one and love one another.
We are doing just that this month as we fulfill biblical prophecy with our Project Aliyah. For your gift of any amount this month, you can help bring a plane full of teenagers from Kazakhstan. We are taking them from a land they were forced into, back home to a land where they can stand proud… because God has given them the nation of Israel. When you rescue their teens, God said, “What you sow is what you reap. I won’t be mocked in this.” It is time for God to reach in and rescue our teens, rescue your teens, by a supernatural spirit of God. It is sharing in this unity of one heart, one Spirit, one God, one purpose, one call, one kingdom, one Truth of the Gospel that will be a sign to the world.
The last, the eleventh reason we blow the shofar is because it is the shout of God. When the blast is made, it declares to all mankind that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is on the throne. He is calling every person, tribe, nation and tongue to return to Him.
Do You Need A Supernatural Victory?
After hundreds and hundreds of years, they declared their nation free. After the possession of the Western Wall, one historic moment was captured when the rabbi gave the first Jewish prayer of thanksgiving. As he is surrounded by fellow soldiers, Rabbi Goren blows the shofar.
Now, the sound of the shofar is breakthrough for you today! We encourage you to join us for the next 40 days, as together we hear God’s voice, receive His revelation for our lives and experience His restoration.
Whatever you have been going through, believe God is bringing freedom and deliverance to you today! He is already sending a supernatural victory your way. As you wake up to the sound of His voice, He is restoring to you all that the enemy has stolen and is bringing you to a new place of refreshing, healing, freedom and blessing today. Can you hear the sound of your breakthrough?
