What is the meaning of prosperity? Did you know that prosperity and the biblical holiday of Pentecost go together? Once you understand how they are connected, it will lead you into greater prosperity in your life.
You might be thinking as you are reading this, “I thought when the day of Pentecost had fully come, it was all about the Holy Spirit being poured out?” You’re absolutely right, however…
…there is an even deeper meaning to it that includes receiving prosperity and understanding the true meaning of prosperity. Let me give you a little background first…
Acts 1:4-5 says, “Don’t leave Jerusalem, but wait here until you receive the gift I told you about, the gift the Father has promised. For John baptized you in water, but in a few days from now you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit!”
The Church calls it the Day of Pentecost, but in Hebrew, it is the Feast of Shavuot, both occurred on the same day. From the time the Israelites came out of Egypt, God said count 49 days and the next day, would be the 50th is Pentecost or Shavuot.
The word Shavuot actually means weeks…

It is a 7-week period or 49 days and on the 50th day, God said for everyone to come before Him with a First Fruits offering during the Feast of Shavuot.
For many in the church, the gift of the Holy Spirit and the power of Pentecost has lost its meaning and purpose. Most believers are living defeated lives and not experiencing the power of God in their life.
What’s missing? The power of the Holy Spirit and the significance of Shavuot are missing. A few years ago when I was in Jerusalem, I was struck by how few Christian tours were in the city during the season of Pentecost. The Spirit of God spoke to me clearly about how He wanted to restore the power and purpose of this major biblical holiday emphasized.
Now let me show you something that I believe will change your life…
The true meaning of prosperity
Proverbs 3:13-26 explains how wisdom and understanding is the foundation for prosperity.
“Happy is the man who finds wisdom and who gains understanding.”
This is exactly what the Holy Spirit brings to us on the day of Pentecost, an anointing of wisdom. Speaking of the Holy Spirit in John 16:13 he will come to guide us, teach us and show you things to come.
Pentecost and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit includes an outpouring of wisdom that will connect you to prosperity. The scripture goes on to tell us that having wisdom and understanding in your life is better than the profits from gold and silver…this is the meaning of prosperity.
The Spirit of the Lord is about to restore some incredible gifts into your life wisdom, anointing and prosperity! These are Pentecost blessings God promised to all believers.
This is why Jesus said, “I promise you this — the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be filled with power.” ACTS 1:8 (PASSION)
As you move in faith and obedience to the Word of the Lord these gifts will be reestablished in your life — and what a change it will bring!
- God’s Wisdom is Power!

How many want to go from milk to the mystical secrets of the Bible?
We get there by study and learning how to connect the dots of God’s Word. Let’s connect the dots from the First Fruits offering to the Day of Pentecost, the Jewish feast of Shavuot, the baptism of the Holy and why together they determine your miracle of prosperity.
The last thing Jesus said before He ascended to Heaven to sit at His Father’s right hand, was “Don’t leave Jerusalem until you receive the Holy Spirit.”
The Book of Acts, Chapter 2 chronicles what happened on the Day of Pentecost, which was the Feast of Shavuot. The Bible says that there were people from all the nations of the world.
- Why were they there on that day?
- Why was every Jewish person there in Jerusalem?
- Why did God bring the Holy Spirit on that same day?
- Why does this season determine your financial blessing?
Remember John 16:13 the Holy Spirit teaches, leads and guides us and shows us things to come. That’s the wisdom of God and the power of God living in you, the Holy Spirit…
He wants you and me to know, 3 times a year, you come before Me and you don’t come empty handed. Return unto me and I’ll return unto you.
How do you return?
In your tithes and in your offerings; don’t forget it’s Me who gives you power in your hands to gain wealth. In Hebrew the word power is strength.
It also means wealth and the ability to judge situations correctly and answer questions:
- Is this the right job?
- The best investment?
- The person I should go into business with?
It means to go higher. The Holy Spirit who teaches, leads, guides and empowers you will show you things to come. God gives you the power in your hands so that everything you touch prospers.
In Hebrew the word for hand is yad. It is similar to yod, which means the supernatural presence of God. Because there are no vowels in Hebrew yad, hand and yod, the supernatural is the same word.
There’s something else…
The word in Hebrew for open hand is yid. Yad, yod, and yid are all connected. Everyone wants to prosper and the meaning of prosperity has many levels.
God says if you want me to bring supernatural blessing open your hand don’t close it.
When you and I come before the Lord on Pentecost with an open hand and give to bless Israel, the Holy Spirit will teach, lead and guide us and show us things to come. Have eyes to see, ears to hear and an open hand to bring your First Fruits offering to God.
