Are you ready to enter into the wisdom, anointing and prosperity of the Bible like never before? This is exactly where you’re headed as you read this blog about the power and promises of God. It’s all connected to growing in your understanding of the appointed times of God and the season of Pentecost you’re in right now. In Hebrew this is known as Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks.

The Feasts of the Lord, which are embedded throughout the Old and New Testaments, contain many prophetic secrets most Christians still don’t know about. These are all part of God’s Biblical Calendar as outlined in Leviticus 23.

They are special times the Lord pre-ordains for his power and promises to be released. The Lord begins His calendar with Passover and then immediately follows this with a little known but amazing 50 day journey to Pentecost.

Jesus is telling His disciples that in 50 days, according to the ancient pattern God gave Moses, there is going to be an outpouring you cannot afford to miss. It’s the power of Pentecost and a supernatural experience with the Holy Spirit. The Lord stressed there is nothing more important for them that to experience this outpouring.

Why? Because it takes you beyond being saved and forgiven. It’s a spiritual baptism when the Lord immerses you in His presence, promises and power. It’s a life-changing experience believers can and should experience today.

Notice how the Bible goes on to describe this:

On the day Pentecost was being fulfilled, all the disciples were gathered in one place. 2 Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of wind rushing into the house from out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear! 3 Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes. It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them. 4 They were all filled and equipped with the Holy Spirit and were inspired to speak in tongues—empowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned! Acts 2:1-4

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not the same as being baptized in water. Both baptisms are an important part of our Christian journey. Both lay a strong spiritual foundation and impart powerful spiritual momentum we need to accomplish God’s purposes.

In the DVD teaching, “Baptism of the Holy Spirit” you have the opportunity to learn much more about this experience. You will actually witness a service here at New Beginnings in Dallas. It will lead you into what the disciples experienced.

Now why is all of this important, and what does it have to do with your situation today?

The reason why everyone saw this and the reason why everyone was there on the day of Pentecost is because of one of the main commandments God gave the Jewish people to come before Him at the appointed times.

In Deuteronomy 16:16 God says, ‘Three times a year I want you to come before me and do not come empty-handed.’ These three times a year are on Passover, Pentecost and Feast of Tabernacles. These are the main appointed times. And the Lord has something special planned each time.

Now, like we always say, God is God 24/7, every moment of every day, but the Bible says ‘call upon the Lord while He is near.’ This shows us God has divine appointments on His calendar. And if God has scheduled an appointment with you, it’s something you just don’t want to miss! Unfortunately Christians have been missing these for hundreds of years.

The reason I teach the Jewish Roots of Christianity is so you won’t miss these anymore.

So on the day of Pentecost, Jewish people from around the world were in Jerusalem to honor God. Yes they were there to worship the Lord! Yes, they were there to keep God’s commandment to come before Him at these appointed times! But there’s more.

They were there to fulfill the prophecy of Malachi. You see Malachi is a promise that’s connected to Pentecost. In Malachi the Lord promises to open the windows of heaven and pour us out an incredible blessing. This is directly related to how we come before the Lord at this appointed time. It’s what we do to release a miracle harvest of prosperity.

When we read Malachi we need to know the setting. The Jews have just returned from Babylonian captivity. They’ve just returned from 70 years in exile because they stopped obeying God concerning the Shemittah, the resting of the land for seven years and the tithes and the offerings.

They had gotten so blessed in the years leading up to the captivity that they said, “You know what? We don’t need God anymore. We can farm. We can do business, we can do this.” And God said, “Okay, you don’t need me anymore. You’re on your own.” So they went into Babylonian captivity.

Now coming out of this, all the sages and all the prophets are meeting, and they’re saying, “God, how do we keep the enemy from destroying us?” Man, things are going good and then we fall off the edge.

God says in Malachi, “Return unto me and I’ll return unto you.”

The word ‘return’ in Hebrew is the word ‘teshuvah.’ It’s not just a physical return. It’s a spiritual return. “Return to me, and when you do, I, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Shalom, Jehovah Tsidkenu, Jehovah-M’Kaddesh – the one who heals, the one who defeats your enemy, the one who cancels debt – I will return to you and your enemy won’t defeat you anymore.”

They asked, “How do we return?” And God gives an amazing answer. You would think He would say quit worshiping idols, quit being immoral, quit doing this or doing that. But instead he says, get back to giving your tithes and offerings.

You think that’s a strange thing, but as Jesus said, ‘where a person’s treasure is … that’s where their heart is.’ So God, who is the same yesterday, today and forever says, “I know your heart has left Me by your lack of offerings.”

So what does God mean by offerings? This is much more than the $20 we give occasionally when the offering plate goes by. The key to understanding this is knowing your Bible history and your Jewish roots.

God is calling Israel to return to Him with an ‘offering of old.’ In ancient wisdom this is a Bikkurim offering – a First Fruits offering. The word Bikkurim means a promise of things to come.

So when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, God’s people had completed their 50 day journey. Then instructed by the Lord, they went to the Temple to bring their Pentecost (Shavuot) offering. They were eager to fulfill God’s plan because they knew when they brought this offering, it would open the windows of heaven for the things.

This is a big reason why we see Paul doing everything he could to get to Jerusalem by Pentecost. It’s also a big reason for you to enter into this prophetic secret from the Word.

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day of Pentecost. Acts 20:16

Your Pentecost offering (First Fruits offering) is the offering of things to come! It’s how God trained Israel to celebrate the three main Feasts of the Lord. It’s an offering that still has the power to release a miracle harvest in your life today.

What things do you want God to bring into your future? What miracle blessing and breakthrough do you need released into your life?

As we go into the season of Pentecost the Lord wants you to experience both a spiritual and financial outpouring like never before. In fact the three main blessings of Pentecost are the wisdom of God, the anointing of God and the prosperity of God.

These blessings are activated by faith and through your Pentecost offering.

However, what you have to realize is that when God says He will open the windows of heaven it’s a window that “passes by.” It doesn’t stay open forever. It passes by during the Pentecost season…and then it’s gone until next year. If you miss this appointment God still loves you, but at the same time you’ve missed an opportunity that won’t return until next year.

So right now God is saying, “There is a promise of things to come.” There is a promise of wisdom for you. There is a promise of anointing for you. There is a promise of prosperity for you. So come before me at Pentecost with a First Fruits offering and get ready for what will follow. Amen!

Now one final thought: Just before God brings you a blessing He first gives you an opportunity to be a blessing! This is a spiritual principle related to the first fruits offering.

There are many ways to be a blessing but perhaps the best way is to get involved with charitable causes, like the ones we’ve established in Israel. Why? Because God promises that those who bless Israel will be blessed. (Genesis 12:3)

Just in the past five years we have given about 5 million dollars away in charitable support. Our ministry is making a huge difference through many humanitarian projects, such as partnering with the Bnai Zion Medical Center in Haifa. Because of our faithful partners, we have been able to purchase much needed medical equipment and most recently helped the construction of a new underground hospital facility to protect the patients against terrorist attacks.

We have also provided 5 Mobile ICU ambulances to Magan David Adom, which is Israel’s version of the American Red Cross. These units are like hospitals on wheels and each will answer over 10,000 urgent calls for life-saving help in their lifetime. As the Lord directs, we will continue to purchase at least one per year to be a blessing to Israel.

We have also funded the construction of 18 bomb shelters at the Ahava Children’s home in Northern Israel so 250 abused, neglected and abandoned children can be safe from terrorist rocket and chemical attacks.

Then there is our commitment to raise funds for Keren Hayesod, Israel’s national fundraising arm, through Project Aliyah.  We continue to help multitudes of Jewish people from Ethiopia, Ukraine, France and other hotspots who are under the threat of anti-Semitism and persecution around the world, aliyah (return) to Israel.

We are also strongly dedicated to providing daily meals, care and comfort to several thousand elderly Holocaust survivors at a remarkable facility in Haifa, Yad Ezer Lechaver.

We would like to ask for your support as we carry on these important works of the Lord.

These charitable projects are ongoing and are vital in fulfilling Bible prophecy. God is using our work to tear down walls of division between Christians and Jews. He is working through us to prepare the world for the coming of the Messiah. You can read more about this in an article that appeared recently in the Jerusalem Report magazine, a popular publication in Israel.

We need your help to make this happen. So please join with us to “Tikkun Olam” – make our world a better place. Your gift large or small will make a big difference….and it will be a big reason for the outpouring of blessing in your life through-out the coming year.
