Day 46: Your Assignment Is Holy Ground

Bloom Where God Has You Planted

Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing…
Psalm 92:13-14

One of the keys to becoming a better you is finding out what God has called and gifted you to do. The more you understand who you are in Christ and what unique strengths and talents you’ve been blessed with, the more productive you will become.

I Corinthians 12 teaches that we are all members of the body of Christ, each with a distinctive role to play. If you don’t know your assignment, get to praying about it. Seek the Lord and seek the counsel of mature spiritual leaders.

Through the years I’ve found that God doesn’t usually give you your full assignment in advance. The Lord has definitely called you to accomplish great things. However, your calling must be worked out over time.

This is where faithfulness comes into play. Jesus said, “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much.” (Luke 16:10) This divine principle teaches us that no matter where we start, God will promote us if we show that we are reliable, dependable and faithful.

You need to start looking for opportunities to make a difference where you’re planted right now. Consider where you are today as holy ground!

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for giving me a divine assignment that will bless the body of Christ and help change the world. I pray that You give me a sound, disciplined mind and a spirit of faithfulness to the gifts and callings You’ve put in my life. Help me to be productive and effective where I am today. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
