Why Should Christians Care About Passover?

What a great question. The first thing that comes to my mind is one of the most often misquoted Scriptures found in the Bible, “The truth will set you
free.” Though that is true, Jesus actually said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

UNDERSTOOD BLESSINGS

That word “know” means to understand or literally to have ownership of. When you own the truth, “that truth” sets you free. And this is true as we study Passover.
The truth is Jesus celebrated Passover and the Apostle Paul encouraged us to celebrate it. It is also true there are many Passover promises that, once fully understood, will release an outpouring of great blessing and miracles into your life. Leviticus 23 tells us about “appointed times” or moedim in Hebrew. This is when the Lord releases a special outpouring of blessing, power, and anointing. These windows of blessing occur each year so we can know when to expect God’s miracles to flow stronger than ever.
The first is Passover, which was a few weeks ago. However, we are in the special 30-day grace period that is mentioned in Numbers 9 which God gave to those who missed the Passover blessings of grace, favor, and protection.
The story of what happened reveals this. God’s children suffered brutal bondage and slavery in Egypt under Pharaoh. God sent Moses as redeemer and deliverer and
brought with him miracles, signs, and wonders. As a result, the plagues passed
over them and the economic crisis, slavery, and immorality of the government also passed over them.

SAVING GRACE

The final plague involved an angel of death who struck the land and people not covered by the blood of the lamb. An innocent lamb without blemish was sacrificed and the blood of that sacrificial offering was applied on the doorposts of the Israelites’ homes. God said, “when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you.” Those who obeyed the Lord, and presented their Passover offering, were saved from the spirit of destruction, set free from the bondage of slavery, and abundantly blessed with Egypt’s wealth.
This is all symbolic of what God wants to make happen for you during this special season.

AVOID MISSING OUT

Even though Passover has just passed, God ordained a second Passover so you wouldn’t miss out on the blessing. There’s still time to activate your Passover blessing. It only takes a Passover offering, the offering of Malachi 3:10. It’s what will release the blessings and promises of God. And that is our prayer for you today, for the Lord to open His windows of heaven and pour out upon you a blessing so great
that you will not have room to contain it all.
