Holiday Boxes Are Needed for Holocaust Survivors

Our recent holiday food box distribution during Rosh Hashanah blessed over five hundred elderly Jews and Holocaust survivors.

Thanks to your support, they had the special items needed to celebrate this sacred time as well as food to stock their shelves.

MIRACULOUS SURVIVAL

Ninel is one such example of elderly Jews in need.

She was born in Odessa, Ukraine, in 1925. When Ninel was in the eighth grade, the Nazis conquered her city.

She and her two younger brothers fled the Nazis, but were later captured.

However, the Nazis thought the children were Ukrainian so both brothers were placed in an orphanage and Ninel was sent to babysit for the German elite.

Tragically, Ninel was turned in by one of those families and was harshly and quickly moved into a concentration camp.

Ninel managed to survive the atrocities of that, and various other camps, until she was liberated in 1945.

Thankfully, she now resides at one of our partner homes in Israel and receives the food boxes that you help provide.

BLESSING OTHERS

Stories like this are where your ongoing support for many elderly Jews and Holocaust survivors make a life-changing impact for them.

Your offering sent this month will help supply Hanukkah food boxes to ensure the Jewish residents have the opportunity to celebrate this eight-day holiday period with dignity,
joy, and a festive meal.

This gesture shows your commitment to your Jewish brothers and sisters, especially for those who feel isolated and face health challenges.

Each LHM food basket that you provide is thoughtfully prepared with the traditional ceremonial items and other symbolic foods which represent the sweetness and hope for a prosperous year ahead.

By bringing these full, food boxes directly to needy senior residents, you are spreading warmth and togetherness.

ONGOING NEED

Today, there are hundreds of other elderly Jews just like Ninel who need your support.

Thank you in advance for helping us with our Hanukkah food distribution. You are a blessing to the Jewish people.
