We are thrilled to now share that, through your generous support, another safe bomb shelter will be built. This new one will be located at an elementary school near Israel’s far-northern border with Lebanon.
Each new shelter provides lifesaving security to many children, parents, and essential staff who face constant threats from enemy rocket fire. Because there were not enough shelters, many parents were afraid to send their kids to school.
But now, thanks to you, children and teachers will have a bomb shelter connected directly to their classroom.
BOMB SHELTERS: MEETING A VERY REAL NEED
One of the commitments LHM has made in recent years is to build bomb shelters in key locations at both the southern border near Gaza and the northern border near Lebanon. These are not theoretical dangers—these regions lived under the constant reality of rocket attacks.
The photos included show the newest shelter built at a kindergarten facility just several kilometers from the northern border. Until Hezbollah was finally degraded and withdrew from the immediate area, it was not uncommon for dozens of rockets to be launched daily, leaving only seconds for innocent people to reach safety.
Because of our ongoing commitment to charitable, lifesaving projects, these small children and their teachers now have a reinforced shelter directly connected to their classroom—giving them precious seconds that truly make the difference between life and death.
