LHM’s Compassion in Action: Saving Lives and Supporting Traumatized Children

Life Saving Bomb Shelters

Several southern Israeli cities recently came under intense attack as a barrage of rocket fire from Gaza continued for days. Elderly Jews and Holocaust survivors faced ongoing fears of knowing that emergency alert sirens could, and would, sound at a moment’s notice.

Fortunately, at one of our partner homes in Ashkelon, each floor had a bomb shelter for elderly Jewish women and men to take quick refuge. Marina is a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor who endured years of humiliating abuse at the hands of Nazi soldiers during World War II.  As a widow without any children, Marina was alone and had nowhere else to turn until LHM helped provide shelter for her.

Now she expresses her deep appreciation for both the shelter and Christians like you who make her life better.

Thanks to you and other Larry Huch Ministries friends, we can continue providing safety and care for more elderly Jews across Israel.

Like the three women pictured above, who were protected and saved thanks to these reinforced shelters that you helped us to provide for them.

Through our bomb shelter program, you are helping to renovate shelters that are not in adequate shape for lifesaving protection and habitation.

With your generous help and prayers, we will be able to continue assisting with housing, food, necessities, and bomb shelters for those in need.

Caring For Israels Youth

An unfortunate result of bombings includes thousands of Israeli boys and girls who are suffering from physical and mental trauma due to rocket and terror attacks.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way!

Thanks to you, LHM is partnering with Israel’s Victims of Terror program to provide both therapeutic and financial support to hundreds of traumatized kids in Israel—including these two young ladies.

“I listened to their brave stories of terror and survival. They are now happy and thankful for the support and therapy they are receiving from you,” said Pastor Larry.  These young ladies are two of the hundreds your prayers and offerings are providing a better life for in Israel.

We thank you in advance for your ongoing prayers and gifts of compassion which allow us to continue caring for Israel’s youth and saving lives with our renovated bomb shelters.

This week marked the 36th International March of the Living that was held on Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Remembrance Day. Pastor Larry was honored to be in Poland to join in the March for his second year. Displaying their solidarity with Israel, ambassadors, religious leaders, students, businessmen, and philanthropists from all over the globe joined more than 55 Holocaust survivors. However, this year was special as six survivors of the Holocaust who were also impacted by the Hamas attacks on October 7th led the march.

Why Should Christians Care About Passover?

What a great question. The first thing that comes to my mind is one of the most often misquoted Scriptures found in the Bible, “The truth will set you free.” Though that is true, Jesus actually said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
