Compassionate Care For Released Hostages Traumatized by Inhumane Captivity

In 2023, Israel’s deficit grew to 7.6% as the government spent more than it received due to the ongoing war with Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.

This steep deficit could even grow to more than 10% at the end of this year.

It could also create many dire consequences for the people of Israel, especially for those who are most in need.

CONTINUED BATTLES

With war and defense costs escalating, Israel has less to spend supporting her people.

Thousands of Jewish men, women, and children are still forced out of their homes due to the dangers of the war.

Many people had to leave with only the clothes they were wearing as rockets and shrapnel fell from the sky.

Everything else, including glasses and medications, was left behind.

Larry Huch Ministries, along with your support, is providing clothing, shelter, food, relocation assistance, and more to these struggling individuals and families.

We are also funding PTSD counseling for traumatized youth, mobile ICU Ambulances, as well as new bomb shelters.

HORRORS OF CAPTIVITY

Shortly after the war with Hamas began, Pastor Larry began meeting with a number of families whose members are still being held hostage.

As of this publication date, there are some 115 people held in captivity by terrorists.

This includes Aviva Siegal’s husband Keith.

Keith, who is an American, was forced to shave his entire body as Hamas terrorists ridiculed and insulted him.

When Aviva and Keith were held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, they suffered from many forms of abuse and torture.

Young women who were also kidnapped by the male terrorists were handcuffed and beaten with sticks. Three of the young girls were made to shower in front of their guards.

“The terrorists told us that Israel does not exist. They told us the whole world was now bombing Israel,” said Aviva.

“Please do everything you can to stop this madness, and help bring Keith and all the hostages home,” she pleaded.

“I was in the worst place ever, with no oxygen, starved, thirsty, sitting in the dark, and threatened for fifty-one days.

“How can I continue knowing that Keith is still there and going through hell? My heart can’t handle this. Please help us.”

MORE TO RESCUE

LHM and Pastor Larry are praying that every one of the hostages is brought home.

Your offering this month will go to help provide for the Jewish people who have been through so much. May God bless you and keep you.

A Beacon of Hope: The Cohen Family’s Story of Resilience

In times of unimaginable trauma, stories like the Cohen family’s remind us of the strength of the human spirit and the profound impact of compassion. Their journey highlights the hardships faced by families in Israel and the healing power of initiatives like the Fund for Victims of Terrorism, supported by Keren Hayesod. This story is not only about enduring hardship but about finding hope and healing through community and faith.

Five years ago, during Sukkot 2019, Revital and Eli Cohen of Beersheba embarked on what was meant to be a joyful family outing to Jerusalem with their three youngest children—Talia, 6; Hodaya, 4; and Yagel, 1.5. Their first stop was the Western Wall, a sacred site for reflection and prayer. Tragically, a wrong turn led them into the neighboring village of Silwan, where they found themselves surrounded by an angry crowd. The mob pelted their car with rocks, shattering windows and damaging the vehicle. Though they miraculously escaped without physical injuries, the psychological wounds ran deep.
