This week marked the 36th International March of the Living that was held on Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Remembrance Day. Pastor Larry was honored to be in Poland to join in the March for his second year. Displaying their solidarity with Israel, ambassadors, religious leaders, students, businessmen, and philanthropists from all over the globe joined more than 55 Holocaust survivors. However, this year was special as six survivors of the Holocaust who were also impacted by the Hamas attacks on October 7th led the march.
The 3-kilometer route follows a trail that connects the former Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. The March pays tribute to the Holocaust victims who were killed, the survivors of the Holocaust, and their families. Although this is usually a very somber walk that is respectfully silent, this year was different. Yes, it was a time to remember the Holocaust but also a time to think of the hostages still being held in Gaza. There were shouts of, “Bring them Back” with photos of hostages and calls to release them. They did not go without an adversarial response.
In such disgusting disrespect, Pro-Hamas protestors invaded the March with their demonstration waving flags and claiming a new genocide in Gaza. Should we be surprised with the unbelievable recent rise in antisemitism? Surprised? No. Outraged? Yes. Read article here and see Pastor Larry Huch’s photo of his courageous response. He waved the Israel flag boldly shouting, “Christians and Americans stand with Israel!” There has been such a blatant and deplorable display of antisemitism on college campuses, on social media, and now at a Holocaust commemoration event. We have to rise up as God is calling on Christians, pastors, politicians and business leaders to rise up and stand with Israel at this pivotal moment in modern history.
Pastor Larry was asked about why he comes to the March and he responded, “to make a stand and let people know, let Israel know and let the Jewish people know around the world that we will not tolerate antisemitism… we will not hide.” He went on to say, “We’re going to come out in God’s great sunlight, stand shoulder to shoulder with every Jew, stand heart to heart, stand spirit to spirit and we will say…never again.” See the full interview below.
The closing of the ceremonies usually involves lighting 6 torches to represent the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust but this year a seventh torch was added. This was to recognize the victims of October 7th. The six Israeli Holocaust survivors whose lives were directly affected by the events of October 7th lit the seventh torch. We cannot forget the Holocaust or October 7th.
The March reaffirmed the demand “Never Again,” which was broken on October 7th when the Jewish people and the State of Israel suffered the worst horrors since the Holocaust, leading to an unparalleled rise in antisemitism around the world.
This is why Larry Huch Ministries and New Beginnings Church unashamedly and emphatically express their love for Israel and the Jewish people. It is a calling that God has placed on this ministry and we strongly believe we are not to be silent but instead use our voice to stand up for, and together with, the nation of Israel and fight antisemitism. As Pastor Larry explained before, “We stand for her right to exist and for the love of the Jewish people wherever they are. We will never allow this to happen again. Israel is the promised land and God continues to bring the Jews back to it.”
Please pray for Israel, her people, and an end to antisemitism. Together we will stand as guardians at the gate saying, “Never Again!”
We invite you to support Israel through our core outreaches especially our Israel Relief Fund.
More than ever, people in need of emergency food, clothing, housing, medical supplies, and other humanitarian aid. The impact of these outreaches is impossible to calculate because each life is of infinite value to the Lord.
God Bless You!
