The Tragedy of October 7th and the Heartbreaking Loss of the Bibas Family

On October 7th, the world witnessed unspeakable atrocities as Hamas terrorists launched a brutal attack on Israel, murdering over 1,200 innocent people and kidnapping more than 250 others. The horrors of that day left an indelible mark on families across the nation, and among the many heartbreaking stories is that of the Bibas family.

For well over a year and a half, we have fervently prayed for the safe return of Shiri Bibas and her two young children, Ariel (4) and Kfir (just 9 months old at the time), who were violently taken hostage along with their father, Yarden. The haunting image of Shiri clutching her terrified children as they were dragged into captivity shook the world. People everywhere donned orange in solidarity, a symbol of the vibrant red-orange hair both boys had.

It was infuriating to learn the inexcusable truth: Hamas had murdered these innocent children and their mother. This revelation has deepened the anguish of their loved ones and the entire nation of Israel. The loss of these precious lives, along with the ongoing suffering of those still in captivity, underscores the brutality Israel continues to endure.

At a service held Sunday March 2nd, New Beginnings Church honored the Bibas family and the immense pain suffered by the Israeli people. Sam Grundwerg, president of Keren Hayesod, expressed deep gratitude, stating: “The dedication of Sunday’s service to the Bibas family and to the Israeli people for the pain that we’re suffering… there aren’t words to describe what kind of comfort and consolation that brings, and the charity and the support and help you’re giving is valuable beyond description.”

As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we must not forget those still held hostage. Each passing day is another day of suffering for them and their families. Now, more than ever, we must stand united in prayer and action, advocating for the safe return of every captive and offering unwavering support to Israel.

Larry Huch Ministries remains steadfast in its commitment to standing with Israel in this dark hour. We invite you to join us in continuing to pray, give, and take action to see justice prevail and every hostage returned home.

May their memory be a blessing, and may we soon witness peace and restoration.
