Israel— The Promised Land, A History Lesson

What happens across Israel directly affects you and your family’s future. What we saw on October 7 is not just about Hamas’s plan for the Jewish people. It is also what Hamas intends to do to all of us here in America. The war in Israel has nothing to do with “land for peace.” This is a war of evil against good––and demonic spirits versus the kingdom of God.

SIGNIFICANT IMPACT

As Israel defends herself from enemies in the Holy Land, she is also fighting for us. We need to stand up and say to every politician and to everyone we know that Israel has the right to defend herself and to defeat her enemies. We need to be loud and strong! Did you know that there was no such thing as a Palestinian people prior to the 1960’s? The claim that Palestinians own the land of Israel is a false invention of Yassar Arafat and the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

ETERNAL PROMISE

Israel is rightfully called the Promised Land because God promised this sacred land to the Jewish people beginning with Abraham 4,000 years ago. In Genesis 13:14–15, the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession.” NLT Since the days of Abraham, Moses, and Joshua until now, Israel has been invaded by a series of foreign adversaries who came to conquer the Jews and illegally occupy the land. This includes Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Muslims, Christian Crusaders, and the Ottoman Turks. The Ottoman Empire was ruled by the Turkish-speaking dynasty who were not Arabs or descendants of Abraham.

NO SUCH ENTITY

As you can see by the map below, the Ottomans controlled a massive area of land across Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa for over 400 years until 1917. There were no international borders. Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, and Egypt did not even exist.

NEWLY CREATED

During World War I, the Ottoman Empire was allied with Germany. However, they were defeated by the Allied Forces. It wasn’t until the 1920s that the international borders were drawn for these lands with the approval of the League of Nations—the predecessor of the United Nations. Great Britain was then given control over Israel––which was called ‘Palestine’ by the Romans after the Philistines. The Arab dispute over who owns the Promised Land only arose after World War I. From 2,000 BC until the 1960s— approximately 4,000 years— there was never a Palestinian nation, people, army, flag, or history of any kind. Eventually, Jewish people declared their independence in 1948 when Israel became a recognized nation. Ever since then, the Holy Land has been attacked, and many wars have taken place, including the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War. Arab leadership refuses any type of peaceful settlement despite many attempts.

ENEMIES ABOUND

In 1987, Hamas was formed as a terror organization with the sole objective to kill and eradicate all Jews and Israel. In the Bible, Hamas means violence (Genesis 6:13). And that is exactly what they are: a violent, terrorist group whose sole purpose is to wipe out the Jewish people and nation. The October 7 attacks are proof of their vicious intent to kill, maim, and destroy. While many call for Israel to a ceasefire and to halt their defensive actions, they have forgotten that Israel was in a ceasefire prior to being attacked. The Jewish people are not the ones who broke it.

YOUR CALL TO ACTION

The truth is that Israel is the rightful owner of the Promised Land, decreed to them by our Almighty God. Israel has a right and obligation to defend itself from unlawful and illegal terror attacks. Please join us today as we stand in unity with Israel and the Jewish people. They are facing the fallout of the worst atrocities in their history since the Holocaust.
