You, Like Queen Esther, were born For such a time as this

An Ancient Spirit That Tried to Destroy God’s People

What we want to share with you is not about people, but about the spirit that drives them to seek the destruction of the Jewish people. I am talking about anti-Semitism. It is at the center of the ancient account of Queen Esther, her relative Mordecai, and Haman, their archenemy, who sought to kill them and stop their God-ordained destiny.

The celebration of Purim is a miraculous story of God’s supernatural deliverance of the Jewish people. He stood up for them. His hidden hand worked behind the scenes and changed their circumstances. God ultimately brought about a sudden, supernatural, miraculous outcome. You can find out more in our Purim page or previous blogs— Purim – Season For the Supernatural and Double Miracles and Supernatural Season of Purim. However, you can read the entire book to fully understand what happened.

God Has an Amazing Plan for Them and You!

The name Purim comes from the Persian word Pur which means “To roll the dice or cast lots.” Make no mistake, even though the odds seemed stacked against Esther and the Jewish people, God was in charge every minute of the way. He is in charge of your life as well. As a child of God and co-heir with Jesus, there is no such thing as “it’s just your lot in life”. God has a plan and purpose for your life. He will make sure that for those that belong to Him, all things work together for good. (Romans 8:28)

Anti-Semitism is on the Rise but God Will Not Be Mocked

There are people today, just like Haman, who think they can hate the Jewish people, seek their destruction, and still escape God’s judgment. But He will not be mocked. The Jerusalem Post released an article in 2021 by Aaron Reich that declared, “Last year was the most antisemitic year in the last decade, with at least 10 antisemitic incidents happening on average every single day, according to the annual Antisemitism Report published by the World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency. While the average number of incidents was over 10 a day, the real number is likely much higher since so many incidents go unreported. The main antisemitic incidents were graffiti, desecration, vandalism, and propaganda, but physical and verbal violence still comprised almost a third of them. At least there were no antisemitic murders last year.” The Anti-Semitism Monitor has been tracking incidents in countries around the world since 2018. The list goes on and on and grows longer every year.

However, you and I, as believers, are standing up and supporting Israel and the Jewish people around the world. With anti-Semitism being greater than ever, and Israel and the Jewish people being attacked on every front, we need to rededicate ourselves to standing with them.

Let me give you just seven of the key reason why we must take this stand.

7 Scriptural Reasons To Stand With & Support Israel

1. Genesis 12:3. “I will bless those that bless you, Israel.”
2. Isaiah 40:1. “Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God. “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, And call out to her, (Amplified)
3. Psalm 122:6. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you.”
4. John 4:22. “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews”.
5. Romans 11:17-18. “You, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.”
6. Isaiah 62:1. “Because I love Zion, I will not keep still. Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her.”(New Living Translation)
7. Amos 9:14-15. “I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands, and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again. They will plant vineyards and gardens; they will eat their crops and drink their wine. I will firmly plant them there in their own land. They will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them says the Lord your God” (New Living Translation)

A New King Looking For A New Queen

Let’s get back to Esther’s story. When King Cyrus dies, the new king, Ahasuerus, who hates the Jews, assumed the throne. King Ahasuerus held a drunken party where his wife, Queen Vashti, denied his request to dance before his guests and she was killed as a result of her choice.

King Ahasuerus searched for a new queen and found a beautiful woman, a hidden Jew, who emerged. She came to the kingdom and was chosen by the king as his queen. Her name was Esther. Her relative, Mordecai, also a Jew, serving in the king’s household uncovered a plot among other servants to poison the king. He exposed them and they were arrested and executed. The king’s life was saved, but he had no idea who had interceded on his behalf.

Will You Choose to Stand Up for What is Right No Matter What?

At the same time that Esther became queen, Haman, a descendant of Agag, was elevated to the position of second in command in the king’s court. He, like his tribal ancestors, hated the Jews. He knew that the Jews refused to bow down to any other God but Jehovah. He had the king sign an irrevocable death decree for anyone who refused to comply in bowing to his pagan God.

But God had a plan to deliver Esther and the Jewish people. He was working behind the scenes to turn their story upside down and reverse their current circumstances. Because of the king’s decree, Esther and the other Jews were still in jeopardy. Mordecai told Esther she must go to see her husband and tell him she was a Jew. She could be removed as queen, or worse lose her life because of the death decree Haman had put in place. Despite the danger, Mordecai reminded her that she had been born “for such a time as this.” God would prove to protect her and the Jewish people.

There is Something Powerful Happening Behind the Scenes

Esther began to fast, pray and seek God. He gave her a plan. She was to go and see the king unannounced. That never happened. As she walked into the king’s chamber, his heart melted when he saw her. “What can I do for you?” he asked. “Can we have dinner and spend time together tomorrow night?” she asked. The king responded, “Is that all you want?” Esther waited and then responded, “I would like Haman to join us.” She left, but the king could not sleep. He called for his servant to bring him the chronicles of the kingdom. As he read, he saw that Mordecai had uncovered a plot and saved his life. He realized that nothing had been done to reward him. That would change.

Favor, Blessings, and Rewards are Waiting for You

The next morning, he called for Haman. The king said to him, “There is a man you need to honor. He is loyal, trustworthy, and faithful. He has rewards coming to him. The king directed, “Put my crown on his head. Dress him in my robes, put him on my horse, and walk in and have someone walk in front of him shouting ‘This is a great man. This is a great man.’”

Haman went home and told his wife and kids, “This afternoon I’m going to wear the king’s crown, his robes, and ride his horse. Mordecai is going to walk before me and loudly proclaim ‘This is a great man. This is a great man.’ When you see the procession coming by our house, throw all of the garbage from the balcony onto Mordecai.”

Haman reported to the king that all had been prepared. “Wonderful,” the king responded. “Put the crown on Mordecai’s head, my robes on his shoulders, and put him on my horse. Walk in front of him throughout the kingdom shouting ‘Here is a great man. Here is a great man.’”

As you know, God blesses those that bless Israel. (Genesis 12:3) He also curses those that curse Israel. Everything had unraveled for Haman. His dream had turned into a nightmare. What a reversal of fortune! Evil Haman was plotting to kill all the Jews yet in the end he and his co-conspirators hung from the very gallows they had originally built for Esther and Mordecai’s execution.

Favor, Blessings, and Rewards are Waiting for You

When you stand with Israel and support the Jewish people, we can say with all confidence that promises, blessings, and so much more are going to begin to manifest in your life. He promised it. It is His first promise and the “avos” of all blessings.

As we are now in the season of Purim, which encompasses the powerful story of Queen Esther, God is also working in your life behind the scenes to turn your story upside down! Queen Esther knew that the evil Haman was plotting to kill all the Jews and that she was their only hope for being spared— This was her appointed time.

This is Your Appointed Time

And now it is your turn. God is already working behind the scenes for you. His hidden hand is moving in the middle of your circumstances. God Is Using You To Turn Others Stories Upside Down

You, too, are turning others’ stories upside down by being a blessing to Israel and her people. Consider the story of Anna and Katia, two Ukrainian Jewish sisters who made their aliyah to Israel not too long ago. The two girls, 21 and 17, hid in an underground shelter with their parents, using cardboard boxes for beds. Eventually, a bomb took out their lone source of heat which can be deadly when the winter weather is minus 13 degrees.

Their parents decided that the only option was for the girls to make aliyah to Israel. Thanks to our partners’ compassionate prayers and offerings, Anna and Katia are now thriving in the Holy Land and are looking forward to the day when their parents will board a Project Aliyah flight as well.

God wants to use you. Don’t limit what He can do or how He can do it. We want you to receive God’s supernatural, miraculous power for your life, right now. God has brought us together for such a time as this, to fight against anti-Semitism, stand with Israel, and bless them. Your change is about to happen. Receive the joy, good fortune, and blessings He has for you. He is turning your story upside down!

Let us pray for you. Father, we thank you that we get to be a part of what you are doing in the earth today. We are grateful to be a part of impacting lives, changing the world, and discovering destinies. We lift up our partners and friends who have come alongside of us to stand with and bless Israel. Lord, we pray for an encounter that will leave them changed forever. We know that your hand is moving in their lives right now and we thank you that you are going to turn their stories upside down.
