On a quiet Saturday evening in Be’er Sheva, as Shabbat was coming to a close, a call came into MDA’s National Emergency Dispatch Center that would become a moment of life, faith, and divine timing.
A 33-year-old woman, 39 weeks pregnant, was suddenly in active labor. Within minutes, the situation escalated beyond control. There was no time to reach the hospital. In that moment, everything depended on one connection.
One voice.
One lifeline.
The MDA dispatcher answered the call and immediately began giving calm, precise instructions. As the mother later shared, the baby was already crowning while she was still in the bathroom. With urgency rising and fear pressing in, the dispatcher’s voice guided her step by step until she reached her bed.
At 6:50 PM, just minutes after the call began, she gave birth to a healthy baby.
Life came forth… before the ambulance even arrived.
Moments later, MDA’s Mobile Intensive Care Unit arrived on scene. The newborn was crying, breathing, and resting safely on the mother’s chest. The paramedics quickly assessed the baby confirming a perfect Apgar score of 10.
A miracle in motion.
But the assignment wasn’t over. Because of the mother’s history of Postpartum Hemorrhage, the MDA team immediately stepped in with advanced care. They stabilized her, monitored every vital sign, and ensured there was no
dangerous bleeding. At the same time, they alerted Soroka Medical Center so a specialized team was ready upon arrival.
From the first word spoken over the phone to the final handoff at the hospital, every detail was covered.
This is not coincidence.
This is what it looks like when preparation meets purpose.
