Saving Lives In Israel ICU Ambulance

Israeli EMTs and paramedics are Israel’s heroes

You’re their partner in saving lives.

Magen David Adom is Israel’s national ambulance, blood-services, and disaster-relief organization, serving as emergency medical first-responders for the state’s 8.8 million people.

MDA is similar to the U.S. Red Cross and handles all of Israel’s emergency ambulance services.

Each ambulance, which is like a hospital on wheels, will respond to over 10,000 urgent calls for help. MDA must replace approximately 100 ambulances every year because they can no longer be repaired.

More than 15,000 Paramedics and EMTs (13,000 are volunteers) work day in and day out to save the lives of those in need. Many started their service through a youth program, which starts at age 15. Emergency responders are a special breed and like here in the U.S., MDA’s staff runs to the emergency while so many others turn and run away.

MDA is the only organization mandated by the Israeli government to serve in this role, but it’s not a government agency, so it relies on people like you for funding. Through your gift, you’re saving lives.

Life Changing

On my first trip to Israel about 25 years ago my wife, Tiz, and I fell in love with Israel and the Jewish people. It was a life-changing experience that led us to teach the Jewish roots of Christianity and to stand with Israel politically and charitably.

We not only believe our partnership with MDA provides a perfect opportunity to help save thousands of lives, but it also provides us a practical way to show our love and support to God’s chosen people.

This relationship we’ve built sends a statement to the world that we are tearing down the walls of division between Christians and Jews. It is repairing a 2,000-year-old breach by promoting a spirit of unity and friendship.

In 2019 we dedicated two new ambulances, the bright yellow Mobile Intensive Care Units that Magen David Adom uses to treat the most severely injured and ill patients, they are the third and fourth ambulances Larry Huch Ministries has sponsored for MDA.

How To Save A Life

One of the ambulances we just purchased has already saved 157 lives in 10 days of being in use. As we continue to raise funds for more ambulances you are saving lives.

Ambulance Dedication For Israel

We are SO proud of all our LHM partners, NB Church Family, Stream partners and everyone who has contributed to making this a reality. Thank you all for helping us repair a broken world!

Here’s a story of how one of these MICU ambulances recently saved a life in Israel.

Two young soldiers, Yuval Appel, and Yarin Eshcenazi were on patrol near the Zehelim Military Base when a white car suddenly accelerated and veered toward them — striking Yarin head-on. Yuval was also knocked to the ground. When the terrorist jumped out of his car to continue his attack, Yuval was able to use his sidearm to neutralize him.

MDA paramedic Yair Schussheim arrived minutes later in a MICU ambulance. He found Yarin on the ground unconscious, with extensive blood on his face and his chest, so Yair and his team loaded Yarin onto the MICU. His injuries were so extreme that Yair feared he would not survive. His throat was filled with blood and teeth and he could not take a breath. Yair ventilated him and opened two IV lines. “Push the gas,” Yair told the driver. “Drive 140 and don’t stop!” He called ahead to alert the doctors and worked furiously to keep Yarin alive until they arrived at the trauma center. A week later, Yarin woke up in a bed at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. The doctors are optimistic his prospects for full recovery are good.

How you can instantly begin to save lives

God has promised that your acts of righteousness — your acts of charity — have the power to protect you from harm and prolong your life.

Proverbs 11:4 says, “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death.” So God is giving you opportunities to be a blessing, to save someone’s life — and when you save a life, you will also be saved.

Each MICU ambulance will help save thousands of lives in Israel over the coming years — and God will see your act of faith.

When we “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (charity),” the Lord promises us, “all these other things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33)

You and I can help make a difference right now.  Together we have an amazing opportunity to provide Israel with another new MICU ambulance. It’s an opportunity God has given us to help save more lives in Israel.
