Your Mission and Your Miracle: How God's Blessing Is Tied to Your Purpose

Your Mission and Your Miracle: How God’s Blessing Is Tied to Your Purpose

God wants you to live in abundance, not just financially, but in your health, your relationships, your family, and every area of life. But that abundance is not separate from your purpose. It is directly connected to it. Understanding what your soul actually is, and what it was created to do, changes everything.

What Does “Life More Abundant” Actually Mean?

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” — John 10:10

The word abundance in Hebrew is the word shepherd, which means an overflow, a rich and continuous flow of good things. It is a divine flow. And the closer we get to the coming of the Messiah, the more powerful God’s blessing and anointing will be upon those who are serving Him.

God never intended for there to be sickness, hatred, or brokenness. Everything He created, He created for good. And on the seventh day, He created the blessing. The Hebrew word for rest is menuha, which literally means blessing. The Sabbath was not just a day off. It was the day God established blessing over everything He had made.

What Is the Condition for God’s Blessing?

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” — 3 John 1:2

Most people can quote this verse. But fewer understand what it actually means. The word prosper in Hebrew means to move forward, to make advancement, to continue pressing ahead. So God is saying that your prosperity, your health, and your miracles are all connected to your soul moving forward.

That raises an important question: what exactly is your soul?

What Is the Soul, and What Was It Made For?

The Hebrew word for soul is neshama. It literally means your mission. Ancient Jewish wisdom teaches that the moment before you are born, you stand before God and He gives your life a mission. He then places you in a body so that mission can be carried out.

Your body is not really you. Think of it like a car. You are the one inside, and the car takes you where you need to go. Your soul is the real you, and it has a divine assignment.

That mission is to make the world a better place. In Hebrew, this is called tikkun olam, which means to heal a broken world. It can look like a word of encouragement to someone struggling at work. It can look like quietly paying for a stranger’s groceries. It can look like standing against hatred and injustice when no one else will.

Why God Needs You to Be Involved

In Genesis 2, before any plant had grown and before rain had fallen, the Bible says there was no man to till the ground. God had not yet caused it to rain, but He also needed man to work the earth. Only God can bring the rain. But He needs people to till the ground.

Everything God wants to do on earth, He wants to do in covenant relationship with you. Goliath would not have gone down unless David threw the stone. God could have handled it. But He chose to work through a willing person with a mission.

When we cry out, “God, do something!” He is often responding, “I am trying. I am waiting for you to get involved.”

You Were Formed, Not Just Created

Genesis 1 says God created the heavens, the earth, the animals, and the birds. But when it came to humanity, the language changes.

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into His nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” — Genesis 2:7

The Hebrew word for formed contains the letter yod, which represents the presence of God. When God formed Adam, He breathed a part of Himself into Him. That means every person carries a divine spark of God. Wherever you go, God goes with you. You are not just a person walking through life. You are an instrument of the living God.

You Cannot Retire from Being the Light of the World

There is no Hebrew word for retirement in the ancient sense of stepping away from purpose. You can retire from a job. But you cannot retire from being the light of the world.

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14

The older you get, the more God can use you. When you are no longer spending eight hours a day at work, you have more time to pray, to encourage, to serve, and to make a difference. The moment you stop moving forward in your mission, something begins to die on the inside.

If the salt loses its flavor, it is good for nothing. If the light goes out, the darkness wins. We are not here simply to attend services and sing songs. We are here to make a difference in the world around us.

What Does the Word “Soul” Reveal About Miracles?

The Hebrew word neshama contains two parts. The second half is the word shema, which is the foundational Jewish prayer: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.” — Deuteronomy 6:4

When we say the shema, we are not just reciting a prayer. We are speaking to our own soul. We are saying: no matter what comes, no matter what temptation or trial, I will never stop serving God. I will stay on my mission.

The first part of the word, nes, means miracle. It means the supernatural. It also means a banner or a flag.

Put it together: when you stay on your mission and keep moving forward, God takes the miracles in your life and waves them like a banner before the world. He lifts them up so others can see who He is. Your miracle is not just for you. It is a testimony that draws others to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

How to Start Each Day on Mission

Ancient Jewish wisdom teaches that before your feet hit the floor each morning, you speak praise to God. This is called the modeh ani, a prayer of gratitude for waking up. You enter into God’s goodness through praise and thanksgiving.

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” — Psalm 100:4

Starting the day with praise is not a ritual. It is a declaration that you are entering a good day, a purposeful day, a day where God can use you. It sets the tone for everything that follows.

The Lord Restores Your Soul When You Drift

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:1-3

When we drift from our mission, when we wander out of the green pastures, God does not abandon us. He restores us. He puts us back on the path. The condition for abundance is not perfection. It is a willingness to keep moving forward and to return when we have strayed.

Your Mission Protects You

When facing serious health crises, the question that kept coming up was not about medicine or odds. It was about mission. A trusted voice once said, “If you were retired from your mission, I would be worried. But because you are on a holy mission, you are going to be fine.”

Staying on mission is not just about impact. It is connected to the vitality, the health, and the supernatural protection that God promises to those who are walking in their calling.

Every Person Has a Mission Only They Can Fulfill

Ancient Jewish wisdom teaches that the moment you are born, God determined there was a mission only you could fulfill. No one else can do it. It may be something that looks small to the world but is enormous in the kingdom of God.

If you save one life, God sees it as if you saved the whole world.

Your mission might be breaking generational cycles in your family. It might be standing against injustice when it is costly. It might be showing up for someone who is about to give up. You may never know the full weight of what God does through a single act of obedience.

That same willingness to act can reach far beyond the people you see each day. Through your partnership with Larry Huch Ministries, you can help bring God’s love to families in Israel who need comfort, care, and a fresh start. Your generosity is one meaningful way to put your mission into action.

Put Your Faith into Action and Bring Hope to Israel

During this season of Sukkot, your First Fruits or tzedakah offering can help turn that compassion into practical care. Your gift this month will help fund additional Project Aliyah flights, especially for members of the tribe of Manasseh, and sustain ongoing outreaches that:

  • Provide food boxes for Holocaust survivors and elderly Israelis.
  • Give children affected by war opportunities for joy and healing through special camps.
  • Fight antisemitism through our partnership with the Israel Allies Foundation (IAF).
  • Build additional bomb shelters to help protect vulnerable communities.
  • Support the Shavim recovery program for civilian reservists facing the psychological effects of war.
  • Provide additional ambulances for Magen David Adom (MDA) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
  • Share biblical teaching and encouragement worldwide through television broadcasts and livestreamed church services.

Behind every outreach is a person who needs to know they have not been forgotten. A Holocaust survivor waiting for a meal. A child longing to laugh again. A family preparing to come home to Israel. Your gift helps meet these needs with love and dignity.

As you reflect on the mission God has placed in your heart, we invite you to take a meaningful step today. Give your Sukkot First Fruits or tzedakah offering and help bring food, healing, protection, and hope to those who need it.

Thank you for standing with Israel and the Jewish people. You may never see every life your generosity touches, but the care you make possible matters deeply to the person who receives it.
