Your Story is Turning Around: A Purim Devotional – Day 1

Day 1: When God Seems Silent

‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future.’

Jeremiah 29:11

Have you ever felt like God was completely absent from your situation? The Book of Esther is unique because it never mentions God’s name, yet His fingerprints are all over the story. This represents what Hebrew scholars call ‘hester panim’ – the hidden face of God.

When your family is struggling, your business is failing, your health is declining, or your future looks uncertain, God’s silence doesn’t mean He’s abandoned you. Sometimes the most powerful work happens behind the scenes, in ways we can’t see or understand. Just like a master chess player thinks several moves ahead, God is orchestrating circumstances for your ultimate good.

Your current chapter of difficulty may feel like the end of your story, but it’s actually the setup for your comeback. Trust that even in the silence, God is working.

Reflection :

In what area of your life do you need to trust that God is working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see His hand?

“We not may not see him, we may not feel him, we may not hear him, we may not sense him, but he will never forsake us. He will never leave us.”

Prayer

Lord, help me trust Your hidden work in my life. When I can’t see You, remind me that You never leave or forsake me.
